-valis Pick of the Week

Hail Voyagers! Our Pick this week comes from Αθήνα! Circassian!
Their new album, Hantse Guashe, is out via Chaotic Synergy.

Like predecessor album, Procrastinational, this one is full of powerful jolts and bursts. They play as if their lives depended on it. Perhaps they do. Whatever the cause, we -the listeners, are the lucky ones here. The band deliver a pulse-pounding array of psychedelia & garage to satisfy virtually every fan of the genre(s). Me, I'm glad they're around. Help yourself to a copious quantity of another Greek Mystery.., then, onward to Eleusis!

Hail Voyagers! Our Pick, this week, call the city of the Acropolis and the Parthenon home: from Athens (Ἀθῆναι), Greece, Circassian, who've released a three-track EP, Procrastinational.

Edd (4 strings), Xenofon (6 strings), Dimitris (6 strings-throat),& Nikos (no strings), certainly create atmospheric music given their locale, but they also know how to bring forth a right pummeling, too. Witness below: At three tracks it's just enough to give you an idea of their capabilities AND make you want more. More is on the way according to Xenofon. May it have dynamis and entelecheia, sooner rather than later. *** You can listen to the archived stream here; or, hear it this Friday, on The Dead Man's Turn Me On, Dead Man show on Live365, where it's heard every Friday at noon eastern time, as well as Mr. Atavist's Sunrise Ocean Bender show, heard every Monday from 1 to 3 am eastern, on WRIR in Richmond, VA.
