Happy Friday to all & sundry! We're taking a trip -as is our nature here, back in time with a fellow traveler: Jack Sharp of Wolf People!

(Picture by velvetdahlia, with our most sincere thanks.)

The interwebs are abuzz with the recent news their first proper LP, Steeple, is finished and set to land in October, out on Jagjaguwar.

So, let's see where this Psychonaut is going:

You've been given a one-time opportunity to use The Wayback Machine; what band in what year are you going back in time to see-and, what song do you most want to hear while there?

Jack: Take me to Mother Earth club, London, Spring 1968. Captain Beefheart and his magic band play live in between Safe as Milk and Strictly Personal. Beefheart, Zoot Horn Rollo (who I think had just joined at that point), Antennae Jimmy Semens, Jerry Handley (no nickname?) & Drumbo would be playing a mix of material from Safe as Milk, the Mirror Man sessions, Strictly Personal and perhaps even starting to play songs that would have made it on to Trout Mask Replica and Lick My Decals Off.

I'd want to appreciate the whole experience, rather than just a song, but I'd get shivers and/or severe heart palpatations if they played Electricity, Safe as Milk, Moonlight on Vermont or Trust Us.

I'd probably follow that with a late night walk around London before catching the timebus home.

Alright Jack! Safe journeys & sincere best wishes on the forthcoming album!

I like Beefheart in small (very small) doses but have often pondered that live is where it's at with the Captain, thus have to concur that I'd love to join Jack on the time bus for this trip.
