-valis Pick of the Week

Hail Voyagers! From Echo Park in Los Angeles comes our Pick this week: Mystic Braves! Their new album, Desert Island, is out now via their Bandcamp page.

While I certainly hear influences from other current practitioners, the references and sounds are soaked in a pure '60s crunchy coating. From the guitar to the organ-fuelled wildness within, this album will satisfy virtually every psych-and-garage fan out there with a pair of ears! Highly recommended. And, if you live in the western U.S., they're playing quite a bit this month up & down the coast:
Jun 17 The Northern, Olympia, WA. All Ages
Jun 18 Electic Owl, Vancouver, BC
Jun 19 Sunset Tavern, Seattle, WA
Jun 21 Mississippi Studios, Portland, OR
Jun 23 The Maltese, Chico, CA
Jun 24 The Rickshaw, San Francisco, CA
Jun 25 Soda Bar, San Diego, CA
Jun 28 Lolipalooza, Los Angeles, CA

***
You can listen to the archived stream here; or, hear it this Friday, on The Dead Man's Turn Me On, Dead Man show on Live365, where it's heard every Friday at noon eastern time, as well as Mr. Atavist's Sunrise Ocean Bender show, heard every other Thursday from 11pm to 1 am eastern, on WRIR in Richmond, VA.

Note:
Adding the Pick of the Week to their show is Dogs Got A Bone out of Edinburgh, Scotland, from 10pm to midnight, Mondays, U.K. time, (adjust accordingly,) on Belter Radio. Thanks Col Chant!
