-valis Pick of the Week

Hail Voyagers! Perhaps it only fitting that on the 4th of February, the numerical mid-point of this most heinous season (a/k/a Winter) we've chosen a band which has put out a white hot EP titled The Sun: from Portland, Oregon, Cambrian Explosion!

For this, their debut of recorded output, we can only give thanks. In copious quantity. This four-piece not only raise a ruckus, they elevate minds. Confident, assured, brilliant. Accomplished, too. If this is what they've achieved on their first, one can only imagine and salivate at what's to come!!! You doubt? Listen to this:

And that's only the first track! There's four more with just as much swagger. Highest recommend. It had me hookah-gazing...
(For another take on it, try the ever-vigilant Nathan Ford's review at his The Active Listener blog.)

You can listen to the archived stream here; or, hear it this Friday, on The Dead Man's Turn Me On, Dead Man show on Live365, where it's heard every Friday at noon eastern time, as well as Mr. Atavist's Sunrise Ocean Bender show, heard every other Thursday from 11pm to 1 am eastern, on WRIR in Richmond, VA.

Adding the Pick of the Week to their show is Dogs Got A Bone out of Edinburgh, Scotland, from 10pm to midnight, Mondays, U.K. time, (adjust accordingly,) on Belter Radio. Thanks Col Chant!
