Again, the premise: You've been given a one-time opportunity to use The Wayback Machine; what band would you like to see, in what year, and what song would you most want to see them play?
Joshua: Funkadelic 1971 "Maggot Brain" Eddie Hazel's shining moment and signature song - most well-known from the fantastically mind-melting studio version. I've always wished I could've witnessed a representative live performance of this, complete with the original backing band (who are largely mixed out of the studio version), providing some extra shading. Unfortunately, the only widely available bootleg of Funkadelic from this era is the Meadowbrook '72 set, where they were just breaking in their new post-Tiki Fulwood drummer for the first time.

Weird. I was just sampling their Where The Grass Grows Black album in an attempt to put together another Mind-Melt Mix.
