-valis Pick of the Week

Hail Voyagers! Our Pick this week, from a "Wormtown of the Mind," (somewhere in Massachusetts,) it's Bobb Trimble! Bobb has just released a fantastic live document of his song's mesmerising powers through Burger Records.

"BURGER RECORDS proudly presents a cassette release of psych legend BOBB TRIMBLE, recorded live with his band The Flying Spiders!
On June 25, 2009, Mexican Summer, Rotter and Friends, Anthology Recordings and Viva-Radio presented the event "After Dark" at Rose Live Music in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The event was Bobb Trimble's first-ever NYC show.
The performance was recorded by Viva-Radio in multi-track format, which allowed Joe Turner to turn in a great soundmix of the album."
Great mix indeed! Backed by members of the Prefab Messiahs and Gary War as The Flying Spiders, it's twelve tracks offering proof as to why Bobb has long been held in high regard by those in the know so that you'll know. Classic tracks such as long-time favorite -of mine, "Armour of the Shroud," and "Undercovers Man," (one of Bobb's favorites, too,) grant those of us not able to witness this June, 2009, event, an opportunity to hear these songs in a live setting. It doesn't disappoint! Cassette at Burger for a mere six bucks, and digitally via Bandcamp for seven dollars. Either way, YOU win.
