-valis Pick of the Week

Hail Voyagers! Hoping the holiday weekend, for our US readers, proved relaxing and recharging. Speaking of recharging, our Pick of the Week knows a thing or two about that: from Athens, Greece, The Social End Products!
They've just released their long-playing debut, Nutre Tu Cabeza, (Feed Your Head,) on their own Radar Eye Records.

The standard bio':
"THE SOCIAL END PRODUCTS formed in Nov 2009 in ATHENS / GREECE by Stathis and Manos who were around since the 90’s as members of the legendary WALKING SCREAMS,THE OUTTASITES, THE MEANIE GEANIES and THE INNER MYSTIQUES." (from Fuzz Overdose Records) They added Themos and Dimitris, and later Sara, to the lineup, giving them full power for live destruction.

On the album they rock and rattle through 14 tracks -the longest at 3:31, and never let up. Sounding like a cross between The Chesterfield Kings and The Seeds, and also The Bluestars who've given them their name. While some could accuse of mere aping of a style, that would miss the point. Completely. It's an attitude and they have it in spades. Wildly entertaining, snotty and relentless. It's a timewarping travelogue to '66 on their own kaleidoscopic path. If that excites you then this is for you. Highest recommend. (While looking for U.S. distribution the band states availability through Lolipop Records.) Αθήνα !
