-valis Pick of the Weeek

Hail Voyagers! A great new Pick of the Week: Black Lizard from Helsinki, Finland!
Their long-player, self-titled, is set to be released this Friday, April 5th, via Soliti !

While I aired two favorites from the album this morning on my show, there are a couple of them I'd have LOVED to have aired but most likely would've run afoul of the FCC. Dammit. Spanning nine tracks over 36 minutes they don't overstay their assault, nor do they let up. A certain contender for Best Of lists when the year is looked back on and thoroughly reviewed. imho.

" To some the band sound a bit like a modern version of neo-psychedelic classics such as Brian Jonestown Massacre, Spacemen 3 or BRMC. In the last couple of years Black Lizard have played a plethora of diverse live shows, during which they’ve managed to create their own distorted signature sound. Black Lizard released their debut EP in September 2012.
Paltsa-Kai Salama: Vocals, Guitar
Joni Seppänen: Guitar, synthesizer
Lauri Lyytinen: Bass
Onni Nieminen: Drums, percussions "

The band will be on the road supporting the release, across Finland:

05.04. Radio Helsinki Club @ Kuudes Linja, Helsinki (album launch show)
06.04. Woodstock/Rockstar’s, TMW, Tallinn, EE
12.04. Doris, Tampere
18.04. Henry’s Pub, Kuopio
19.04. Jyrock, Jyväskylä
20.04. Klubi, Turku
26.04. Torvi, Lahti
03.05. 45 Special, Oulu
04.05. Bar 15, Seinäjoki
08.05. Rock Bar Monttu, Pori

Best wishes to the band -and Soliti, on the new album!
