-valis Pick of the Week
Hail Voyagers! Hoo! and Boy Howdy! This week we're all over the Memphis-centric psych' n' roll of Tiger High and their preserved assault on your Shatner's Bassoon sounds from their album, Myth Is This out on Trashy Creatures Records.
(“Myth is This”, the debut full length from Tiger High, is available as an 8 song cassette or as a Limited Edition (100 Copies)Hand assembled and numbered CD featuring the original 8 song cassette release plus 4 extra tracks and two super sweet stickers.)
I've been nothing less than an exuberant flag-waver for this one since I heard it two weeks ago. (Damned hard to have sat on it this long, too!) I think you will as well. Go get a copy via their store and tell 'em "-valis sent me!"
Please to dig, muchly, the rippin' sounds of "Losing Out":
Tiger High is a tight knit group of musicians all born and raised in the music mecca of Memphis, Tn. Fronted by songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Jake Vest (Jack Oblivian, The Trashed Romeos, Bullet Proof Vests) the band is rounded out by drummer Greg Roberson (Reigning Sound, Arthur Lee’s Love, The Trashed Romeos, Jack Oblivian) and two of Vest’s longtime musical partners, brother Toby Vest and Greg Faison. The band co-writes and records their material at High/Low Recording, a studio owned and operated by band member Toby Vest. The studio serves as the bands home base of operation as well as the home of their wrecking crew style production team.
