-valis Pick of the Week

Hail voyagers!!! Yet another week comes and another Pick with it. This one should be a familiar name for long time readers as we're fans of this band's debut from 2005.
From the greater Philadelphia area: House of Fire!

Their newest release, an EP on Candy Colored Dragon, dropped on February 7th, titled The Morning Light.

Although it's certainly fair to assert I'd hoped for more, such as an LP, we take what we can get and the gettin's good here. Gone from their '05 debut is the rather rote (but ambitiously executed) BJM-alike sound. They've found their own unique voice and -like the ouroboros, we're left eating our tail as we're back to the "want more" cycle when it has finished. I like their direction. I believe it's called up.

Here's a taste, the title track:

My best to Isaac & the crew of House of Fire!
