The Wayback Machine

It's another installment of The Wayback Machine and we welcome Tor of Melbourne, Australia's The Sun Blindness! Some of you may know their 2007 album Like Pearly Clouds made our Top Ten List. If you haven't caught up to it I give it high recommend! They're also featured on a GREAT compilation CD called Burn Your Fingers On The Sun, which showcases some of the best & brightest on the Australian neo-psych' scene, out on Darkland Recordings & available through Off The Hip.

The premise: You've been given a one-time opportunity to use The Wayback Machine; what band would you like to see, in what year, and what song would you most want to see them play?

Tor: Hmmm.. one of my house mates just asked me this question and I never know what to say, because I can't decide! So I'm gonna have to cheat and give 2 answers.

1. The Doors at the Whiskey A Go Go in L.A in 1966, getting a full version of "The End" together for the first time. Debut of the oedipal section... the gig that got them kicked out.

OR

2. The Misunderstood in London, 1966, performing basically anything. "My Mind", "Children of the Sun", etc. I'm convinced they were the most exciting psychedelic band of all time.

Preferably, I'd have to time to see both these events, because they probably occurred within months of each other. (Editor's Note:If you've read Robert Anton Wilson's Schrodinger's Cat Trilogy, as well as PKD, this might be possible.)

I'd also very much have liked to be at the Monterey Pop Festival, but wouldn't we all have.

Thanks Tor! Best wishes on the new album, too!
